Welcome, we are happy to have you along for the ride 🐺🚐🚴‍♂

The name Wolf on Wheels carries a special meaning for us. W.O.L.F was design to signify  “Warrant Officer Liberation Front,” a playful nod to our years of military service. Both my husband, Francisco, and I served as Chief Warrant Officers (CWO) in the U.S. Army. We were part of a small but formidable corps of technical leaders. They are few in number, yet mighty in skill, influence, and accomplishment. Often working quietly behind the scenes, Warrant Officers are the technical experts who keep things running, solve the tough problems, and make sure the mission succeeds. The name reflects the camaraderie, pride, and humor that comes with being part of that tight-knit community. And for those who know the Chief Warrant Officer world… you know!

The idea of traveling full-time didn’t happen overnight—it had been quietly growing in us for years. Back then, we were both deeply committed to our careers. Francisco was immersed in his federal role, and I was putting in long hours at the Pentagon. Our responsibilities were meaningful, but they also kept us anchored, making it difficult to take the leap toward a life of travel. Everything began to shift when I was transferred to South Florida for what would become my final military assignment, serving as the Command Chief Warrant Officer for United States Southern Command. Being stationed there opened a new chapter for us. For the first time, I was no longer confined to the walls of the Pentagon, and the world felt just a bit more within reach. Yet even then, the demands of the position were significant. Extensive overseas travel and long hours became the norm. Ironically, while I had the opportunity to visit incredible countries, there was rarely time to truly experience them—to slow down, explore, and connect with the places we traveled to.

To make the most of the little free and together time we had, Francisco and I purchased our first travel van—a 21-foot Thor Sequence—which we proudly named the “W.O.L.F. Mobile.” That RV gave us something we had been missing: the freedom to simply load our bicycles and escape the hustle and bustle of Miami on the weekends. Those quick getaways quickly became our reset button—chasing new bike trails, wandering quiet back roads, and discovering small towns we might have otherwise overlooked. What started as simple weekend escapes soon turned into some of our most meaningful adventures, quietly planting the seed for what would later grow into Wolf on Wheels.

Over time, W.O.L.F. began to take on a deeper meaning.

The wolf itself represents strength, resilience, loyalty, and the instinct to keep moving forward—values that had defined our military careers and continues to guide us in this new chapter. Just like the wolf, we had learned to adapt, to endure, and to find our path no matter the terrain. As our weekend escapes turned into something more, “W.O.L.F.” naturally evolved into Wolf on Wheels—a name that reflects not only how we travel, but who we are. It carries our story forward: rooted in service, driven by purpose, and now fueled by the freedom to explore life on our own terms.

Two Warrant Officers. One RV. And a country full of roads still waiting to be explored. 🐺🚐🚴‍♂️
